Need help translating this story from English to Dutch, i’ll give 10 points!?

Feb 22

Crazy_Javi asked:

Well, hello my name is Javier, i recently moved to Belgium, and I can’t speak the language properly to make a book report, but they are asking me to summarize a story in dutch, which I can’t, so I read a story in english then I made the resume, but I need someone to translate the story to dutch :S If I don’t make this book report I won’t pass the subject :S anyone can help me?? I would appreciate if someone helps me with this.

This is the Summary:

The story begins in Boston, Massachusetts, In a swampy area, the narrator explains that the Pirate “ Captain Kidd “ buried a treasure in that area, and explains the devil himself guarded that area, he also said Kidd never returned to get his treasure and he was sent to England from Boston and he was hanged as a pirate.
Tom Walker lives in New England, and he is a miserly person who lives with his wife, who is as miserable as him, they both hate each other and always hide money from one another, they also live in a horrible house, their trees are in a bad shape, and their horses are unfed and skinny.
One day Tom Walker was walking through the swamp near his home, Tom stopped to rest in a fallen down fort, it was said that the Indians built it to hold off the colonists. Tom was sitting there when he found a skull with an Indian tomahawk hanging out of it. When he was cleaning the dirt out of it, he heard a voice of a man telling him to leave the skull alone. He was a man covered in black mud, with big red eyes, and he was wearing a sort of Indian clothes but he was not an Indian. He asked Tom what was he doing in his land, and he replied that this land was not of him, or anyone else. He then shows Tom that each tree has a name of someone in it, like Crowninshield who was a very rich man who became wealthy questionable trading activities. And the black man said Crowninshield was ready for the burning.
Tom then asked who he was and he said that some people call him the black miner or sometimes the black woodsman; he said that he was the master of the Salem witches. Then tom replies that he must be “Old scratch “another name for the devil. And the black man said he really was Old Scratch, the narrator says that most of the people when they meet such character in a wild place, they would be frightened, but Tom wasn’t, Since tom have lived with his nasty wife for a long time he did not even fear the devil.
They spent talking a long time together, and the black man told tom about the buried treasure from pirate Kidd, and that the money was under his command, and that nobody could find it unless he wanted to, so he offered Tom to find it, but he was asking for something in exchange of it, something like his soul, Tom then asked some time to think about this offer.
When he got home, he told his wife about what happened, and his wife asked to go back and accept the offer, but Tom said no, since he wasn’t willing to give his soul for it, so his wife made the deal herself and went to look for the black man.
The next day she returned in a bad mood because the man wasn’t accepting her offers, so the next day she went again, with a lot of their valuable objects, but the days passed and she wasn’t back. So he went back to the Indian fort, and all he found was the apron she was taking, a heart, and a liver, he wasn’t upset at all, in fact he said the devil made him a favor for taking his wife, and he wanted to be friend of the devil.
He couldn’t find him for a long time, but when he did, he discussed about the offer the devil made, but he never talked about giving his soul, because he was not going to give it, so the devil mentioned something about him becoming a slave, and using the money he earned for the devil’s benefits, so he objected and asked for another offer, then the devil said he must become a money lender, and he would give money at 2% interests, but Tom volunteered to give 4% and the devil also said Tom should lead the merchants to bankruptcy, then Tom volunteered to drive all this debtors to the devil as well, then Tom was set in Boston.
Tom became a wealthy and powerful man, but as Tom aged he became concerned about his deal with the devil and he tries to find a way to get out of it, so he became holy, and always had a bible in his hand.
One day Tom was in his house with some costumers, when somebody knocked the door, when he opened the Black man was standing outside, with a black horse stomping the floor, and he took Tom, the black man put him in the horse and they went riding, and the horse throwing fire each time he stomped the floor then the black man disappeared. Tom never returned and it is said that they can hear a horse growling and running around, and all of his money turned into ashes, and his house burned to the ground. They never saw him again, and you can find the name of Tom Walker in one of the swamp’s trees. This was the end of Tom Walker and all the wealth he accumulated by cheating and abusing others.

Is Premiere Productions Inc. Training Program For Wedding Planners A Rip-Off and Scam?

Feb 22

Not_Anymore asked:

I feel as though I was scammed by Premiere Productions Inc. and Maria Cook. I drove over 250 miles to interview with this company thinking it was a formal job interview for wedding planners. That was the first big red flag. Nor did they ask me a single question during the interview. Rather they used it as an opportunity to try to get me to pay for a training program. They were very secretive about the training packages.

Their website and job ad on Craigslist makes no mention of paying to be part of the program or company. If fact it says the opposite, that you will get rewarded and paid lucratively while you are training to become a wedding planner under Premiere Productions Inc. This is clearly false advertising as the company makes money by trying to scam and ripoff unsuspecting and unemployed people out of their hard earned savings.

When I got home from my interview, I looked them up on the internet and found out that the company and it’s President/Owner Maria Cook are profiled on ripoffreport.com and Yelp. It sounds like she and her company are under investigation. Shame on them.

What should I do to help protect others from falling victim to this scam?

Do you know that the value of hand quilted quilts is much more than the machine quilted?

Feb 22

oooooooo asked:

Machine pieced and quilted quilts are worth less than hand quilted quilts.
My Mom made quilts for a while. She had to go to doing them on the machine, this brought down the value considerably. She made some for my sister who bought the fabric for her. I do not know what my Mom got from sister selling them. She got a piece of the money. No one could know what, I never asked.
My mother had a really bad back. She had cataracts. When they were finally removed, she could not crochet as she did before. She continued quilting, but had to quit. Being able to crochet, even intricately, does not mean one is employable. It depends on a lot of things. It could be used to intimidate, bluff, blackmail, harass someone, if they were a threat in any way. It could be used to get the upper hand on someone who knows where the bodies are buried.
I have only one or two of her quilts which she machine quilted; they are tattered, not worth anything monetay, but I love them. They are not worth anything but to me. I had more of her things, including the hand crocheted tablecloth which took her a long time to make. She made one for each of us. Someone took them. My Mom was very hurt that the tablecloth was taken from us. The quilts Mom made all or most of her life were used on the beds for warmth.
Does this mean she was able to work. No. Making one tablecloth, does not mean anything. There is the market, the expense, the time taken and how many she could make, profit. Disabled people are allowed to earn so much money. People on welfare are allowed so much income. There is overhead expense in any production.. She could make nothing in an amount to make a living or get enough money to make her not able to work, unless someone lied to get her into trouble. Then there is the stress of knowing you are making them for other people to be considered. Poor Mom.
She took care of a blind husband who needed her at home. He could not live alone. She never got to go any where. She went to town once a month. He did not like church. He did not like going much of any where. They took a lot ofhassle off people. Could he walk a straight line? He was blind, completely.
About their property. Yes. They bought a farm, the farm: The pet cemetery of pet cemeteries. It was rocks, hills, not much flat land. It would have taken a fortune to clear the land. We did not have it. It had only about three acres cleared, one of those was a lot of clay mud. There would have been the rocks , thickets , trees to remove. Cut the trees, not really valuable timber, only for firewood is all. That is where we got our firewood for the rest of our lives. Pull the stumps. Pay the people to cut the trees, pay to pull the stumps, fill it in. Pay to remove the huge rocks. Pay to level some of it. Pay to till it. Pay to plant and replant for several years cover crops to combat the red clay mud. Then , there is the matter of farm equipment rental…tractors, dozers, etc. We had none. These things cost a lot to run. So…their ground was very very cheap when they bought it. It did not sell for a lot.
The house was a small two story frame home with siding. It had a cistern, not a well, we carried our water from a well.. It ws home. When we left we had electricity. We did not, for many years, nor did the neighbors. This was long ago. I spent l7 years there. The balance of my life, I did not live that way, until I was forced to go back and take help from a relative who was so impoverished that the only means she had to help me was to allow me to live in a shack on her property with no running water, no ac, only wood heat, no flushing toilette.
I worked for five to six hours a day, min. wage, or slightly above, very slightly,
for years. It was very painful work. I didn’t have the money to do anything.
I would rather die than to live like that. I had committed absolutely no crime.

We were like most people in that country except the ones who lived in town, or had jobs. My Mom was a minority, very bad scoliosis. DAd was blind.
We did not have it “good.”

You might supplement your income from selling quilts. The object is to say hand quilted and pieced are worth more, and you could send them to California, or somewhere. Knitting is the same way.

I can sew, limited. I burned myself out winter before last. I hurt so bad I could not stand it. So, I have to do little bits at a time. Same with this. I can hunt and peck when I do this straight typing, it hurts my chest. The piano does not bother me. I am not on disability. If I do not want to work, I do not have to, on or off. I have not filed bankruptcy. I am not wanting to work. I have had enough abuse and I feel no guilt whatsoever when I do not work. I worked my
entire life, hard, on the job and off, I deserve some peace and quiet. I am not a workaholic. I worked to have money to play, have comfort, luxury.
I do not understand the war
I do not understand the war to drag out my illness, I do not understand forcing me to work when I am not able.
I apologize for the lack of proofreading here. I have bad vision problems. I have to buy two pairs of glasses to get one. That was the way it was when I was young also.

Can you translate into spanish please :]?

Feb 22

Chrissyxox asked:

Dear , Ms. M

I think the destination we should go to is Barcelona. I’m choosing Barcelona because it is Spain’s most cosmopolitan city and one of the Mediterranean’s busiest ports. its old centre constitutes one of the greatest concentrations of Gothic architecture in Europe. Beyond this core are some of the world’s more bizarre buildings: surreal spectacles capped by Antoni Gaudí’s Sagrada Família church.
Barcelona has been breaking ground in art, architecture and style since the late 19th century. From the marvels of Modernisme to the modern wonders of today, from Picasso to the likes of Susana Solano, the racing heart of Barcelona has barely skipped a beat. The city’s avant-garde chefs whip up a storm that has even the French reaching for superlatives.
Barcelona is the capital of Catalonia, a region with its own language, character and history – many Catalans think of their home as a separate country. The city itself could keep you occupied for weeks but just outside it are sandy beaches, Sitges and the Montserrat mountain range. Barcelona has so mich history the possibilities are endless not to mention the shopping, festivals, and restuarants to go to. The best time to go is May because it can be the most pleasant month of the year very clear and fresh. By means of transportation we will go to the airport. The cost of this trip is $750 per person. To earn money for this trip we could do fundrasiers, bake sales , and car washes.
Activities during this trip would be sightseeing, going to the beach , shopping , going to festivals, eating out. The trip will take approximately 8 to 9 hours. 15 people will be able to go on the trip. Classmates and 1 teacher .
yes the teacher will know she doesnt care.

How to save money as a student?

Feb 18

Mark_Andrews asked:

So I’m a student who’s only just having the responsibility of finances being thrust upon me. I’m not from a wealthy family (SIngle parent), and therefore the idea of having money that I earn myself has meant before I’d just squander it on whatever.
However, soon I’m off to university/college and dread it… I’ll not receive much financial support from home so I need saving tips!

Appreciated!

Why does my dad like my brother more than me?

Feb 18

xoxo__3 asked:

When my dad comes home from work he doesn’t even notice me. :(
My brother is always signed up for sports, Baseball n Hockey, for school and out of school teams.
This summer I’m signing up for B-ball, to get to see my friends since their signing up for the same team.
It only cost 20 bucks n my grandpa probably going to pay it, and for the cleats.
But my brothers stuff cost 100 and over!! Thats just for the gear!! While I, if I ask for proactive or something(for my skin) they’ll get REALLY MAD over that!! (There realy cheap for me) soo I probably end up never getting it untill my skin goes really bad. they never buy anything for me.
Then they give him 5 or 10 dollars evy night, while i have to do chorus to earn my money, and im only 12 and hes like, 17!!! It makes me want to cry sometimes. So what should I do?
(theres more stuff, but it be too long to type.)
