Wow! It's been a long time since I updated this blog (a week ago). And so many thought I quit! That I was another newbie who thought he could make money in a flash but got burned and went back to reality. Well, sorry to discourage them, because I'm still here and yes, I will still be blogging. Although I guess I have to explain why I've been out lately.
First of all, the number one problem that all writers experience has caught up to me: "Writer's Block." Yep, the dreaded phenomenon hit me right in the face one day and my mind just went blank. I had a list of topics I wanted to talk about, rambles, maybe even rants, but everytime I put my fingers on the keyboard, nothing happens. So I ended up with drafts instead of published articles. What did I do next? What any wise writer would do, stop and rest. I'm sure there are different advices out there but what works for me is to simply give it up for a while, unwind, and come back, when everything's fresh and new again. This doesn't mean leaving the computer because I still did the usual promoting and blog hopping, something I've become rather fond of. I just took my mind away from the worry of writing an article for this particular blog.
While resting my mind, I got the opportunity to get out of the house and bond with my friends and relatives. A few drinks, coupled with laughter and senseless chatting about anything under the sun, were enough to keep me preoccupied for the moment.
I went back to the school where I was expected to be employed and sure enough, the head there asked me if I was ready to start on the third week of May. I was shocked because I thought I had to do a little lecture demo for them so they can assess my standing as a teacher/professor. I was even told that many applied for a position there so I was expecting competition. But lucky enough, I got the job. That job is another reason why I can't seem to focus on writing a good article. I'm just too excited to start! I'm thrilled to finally be able to teach again but at the same time, anxious about how I'll be able to relate to my students. It's going to be a new experience and definitely a challenge.
As for this blog, it will continue to be updated for as long as there is something that I have to say. To be an employee again will surely give my mind a boost of ideas on things to talk about. I'm looking forward to that, and I hope you do too.
